Bolton Arena has announced a new naming rights partnership with the University of Bolton.
The site will be called the ‘University of Bolton Arena’ in a three-year partnership starting at the end of February 2023.
The University of Bolton and Bolton Arena are at the heart of the community, and both play a vital role in flying the flag for the town.
The partnership will enable university students to access sports and leisure activities not only academically but socially to benefit health and wellbeing.
The Arena’s football and gym facilities will be accessible for students to use regularly, particularly those living in Bolton.
John Ashley, Head of Commercial at Bolton Arena, said: “The partnership with the University of Bolton is a great opportunity for us to offer our wide range of sports and leisure facilities to the students within the Bolton town centre campus.
“The University of Bolton is synonymous within the town and enhances Bolton Arena’s reputation as a great sports facility.
“As well as offering facility use, with over one million visitors every year, the arena is the ideal platform for the University of Bolton to spread brand awareness in our local community by using our multi-channel advertising platforms to showcase its brand.”
The arena features a large gym, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, football training pitches, gymnastics centre and meeting and event spaces.
It also holds sports classes for youngsters and a Sports Camp in the school holidays.
The arena will feature partnership branding both inside and outside the venue, starting from the end of this month.
In a statement about the University’s new role as a naming rights partner, Professor George E Holmes DL, President and Vice Chancellor of the University of Bolton, said: “We are proud to announce this partnership with the Arena, which is an excellent community-focused venue. It offers superb leisure facilities to the people of Bolton and beyond.
“This exciting partnership opens up many opportunities for the University of Bolton Group, its students and staff, and we look forward to working even more closely with the Arena in the years to come.
