Community Leisure UK Launches Seriously Social About Swimming Conference

We are hosting our first ever Seriously Social About Swimming Conference this June.

The conference is a spin-off from our national, yearly campaign “Seriously Social” which celebrates the social impact and nature of charities and social enterprises delivering public leisure and culture.

Throughout the day guest speakers will discuss topics, share case studies and examples of good practice in line with the Seriously Social themes of Health & Wellbeing, Inclusion, Community, Employment & Skills and the Environment.

This members’ only event takes places on Tuesday 24 June – 9.30am until 3pm. Register now.

“Following the themes of the main national campaign the Seriously Social About Swimming Conference will highlight the great work and good practices of our members, sharing learning and understanding across our membership.”

Highlights include:

Keynote Speaker – Michael Gunning. Michael is a trailblazing Jamaican-British swimmer, media personality, and LGBTQ+ advocate whose journey has inspired people around the world. A passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, Michael works across the UK to create meaningful opportunities for underrepresented and minority communities, contributing to numerous campaigns aimed at breaking down barriers and inspiring the next generation.
