Charitable Trusts and Social Enterprises delivering public leisure and culture will celebrate their Seriously Social nature this June!
Due to the May elections, we’ll be kicking off the week-long celebration of our members social heart and value a little later than usual on Monday 8 June when once again, we’re encouraging all members to share their social value through case studies, stats and impact on social media using the hashtag #SeriouslySocial. And reminding everyone why we put “people above profit” as part of our charitable cause.
Each day of the week, this social media campaign- now in its third year – will focus on a different theme to show how charities and social enterprises make a difference to individuals and communities through:

Kirsty Cumming, CEO of Community Leisure UK, said: “Our members serve everyone in their communities regardless of age or ability.
“They are places where arts can power mental wellbeing, physical activity can create social connections and where health programmes meet community need. Seriously Social is a campaign that focuses on our sector’s greatest USP, our social heart.
“As social enterprises and charities, they put people above profit. Reinvesting money for the betterment of society.
“And that is why we developed Seriously Social, to celebrate the difference they make.
“We would encourage all our members to take part in the week, sharing case studies, statistics, impact reports and social value figures to show and remind people they are being supported by charities and social enterprises who put people and communities first.”
Community Leisure UK’s Seriously Social Awards ceremony is also making a return in 2026.
Once the main Seriously Social Campaign has finished nominations will open for the 2026 Seriously Social Awards being held on Wednesday 25 November in Glasgow.
Chair of the Community Leisure UK board Phil Rumbelow said: “We are proud to be the members association for a network of charities operating with a social conscience, delivering social good when providing public leisure and culture services.
“The Seriously Social Campaign and Awards night showcases the very best of those good intentions, shining a spotlight on charities and social enterprises doing their utmost to support individuals and communities be healthier, happier and more creative.”
