Active Luton has announced the appointment of Lawrence Kay as its new Chief Executive.
Lawrence is currently Director of Wellbeing and Enterprise at Trilogy Active, formerly Northampton Leisure Trust, which operates seven facilities including gyms, leisure, recreation and sports centres, a soft play centre and a cinema. With a mission to inspire active lifestyles and a vision is to be an innovative wellbeing organisation, Trilogy Active has similar values to Active Luton.
Lawrence will take up his post in mid-March and brings a wealth of experience in developing a leisure, health and wellbeing trust with him, alongside a commitment to promoting diversity and maximising social value and impact on local communities.
Lawrence commented, “I am excited to take on this new challenge. Active Luton has an incredible track record and commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of Luton through a huge variety of services, programmes and projects and I am very proud to be able to lead the organisation in the continuation of this work.”
Active Luton is a Community Wellbeing Trust with a mission to make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of its community, inspiring, motivating and offering opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to learn and take action to improve their life chances.
It runs varied leisure, library and some community facilities across Luton and provides a wide range of high-quality programmes and activities, including extensive health and wellbeing services, all of which enable local people to participate in physical activity, improve their health and wellbeing, enhance their education and skills and create career opportunities
