It started as a way to bring a smile to their customers’ faces.
But now, it appears, swimmers at Immingham Swimming Pool in North East Lincolnshire “can’t help falling in love” with Lincs Inspire’s new King of the pool.
When operations officer, Dave Varley donned the iconic white jumpsuit, shades and quiff of music legend Elvis Presley and started belting out some of his top tunes poolside the intention was to bring a little joy and laughter to swimmers.
In fact, it’s turned into something more like Viva Las Lincolnshire with the creation of new disco-themed swimming sessions that are proving a real hit.
“It started as a bit of fun to cheer people up, and now it’s become the best part of the week. Seeing people smile, sing along, and dance around the pool makes it all worth it, even if I do have to wear fake sideburns!” Dave said.
Dave’s Disco Dive takes place at Immingham Swimming Pool between 8pm and 9pm on the following dates:
Visitors can expect karaoke, dancing and of course, live performances from Lincs Inspire’s own Elvis impersonator. Swimmers and spectators alike are encouraged to join in the fun – bring your best disco outfits and your favourite song requests!
