Pendle Leisure Trust is celebrating after winning the Social Responsibility Award at the recent Pendle Business Awards.
Organised by Pendle Borough Council, Primary Care Network West, TaAF (Together and Active Funding) and Community CVS, the event at the end of June celebrated all the fantastic work happening in Pendle (Lancashire) and explored how organisations can work more collaboratively to improve health outcomes for Pendle residents.
The event was for all those that either work or volunteer within organisations that are about improving health and wellbeing, however big or small – including working with children and young people, improving educational attainment, oral health, weight management, and mental health.
All were welcomed and they shared best practices and got to know the amazing work that is currently taking place in Pendle around health and wellbeing which will help shape the future of Pendle and improve the health of the community.
The outcome of the event was a declaration on Healthy Weight:
This Declaration has been adoptable by Pendle Health and Wellbeing Partnership and encapsulates a vision to promote healthy weight and improve the health and well-being of the local population.
Working together, Pendle Borough Council, Pendle Leisure Trust, Pendle West Primary Care Network & Pendle East Primary Care Network recognise the need to exercise our responsibilities in developing and implementing policies that create healthy places of environments.
